The Story behind Broke N' Brush
In early 2023, Jazmyne Ramsey and Ashley McLaughlin met through their mutual passion for horses. Jazmyne had recently moved from Indiana to Iowa, working as a mechanic, while Ashley had just launched her horse training business after studying Business and Art at James Cook University in Cairns, Australia.
Ashley, who had previously enjoyed a career in graphic design, was drawn back to horses but wanted to keep her creative spark alive. Jazmyne and Ashley quickly bonded over their love for both horses and art, sparking the idea to combine their passions.
In 2024, they founded Broke N' Brush, an art business that blends their artistic talents and equestrian interests. Broke N' Brush features original artworks and provides a platform for emerging artists, especially women. Located at K&H Ranch, it offers a welcoming space for exhibitions, workshops, and community events.
Broke N' Brush is more than just a business—it's a creative collaboration born from a shared love of art and horses, aiming to inspire and connect with the community.
